Why podcast clips need
animated captions.
Speech-heavy audio = perfect transcribe target
Podcast clips are nothing but speech, often at studio-quality. Deepgram Nova-3 nails this kind of audio — word-level timestamps are accurate enough to animate per-word.
Sound-off discovery
Podcast clip viewers on TikTok / Reels / Shorts often discover with sound off. Burned-in captions are the entire pitch for whether they tap the audio on.
Cut once, caption fast
Use Riverside, Opus, Descript, or CapCut to cut the clip. Upload here, pick a style, export. Captions add maybe 60 seconds to your existing workflow.
Speaker-emphasis built in
Each preset emphasises content words automatically — punchlines, names, key claims. You get the Submagic-style pacing without manually picking which word to highlight.

Podcast clip captions FAQ.
Is the podcast clip caption generator free?
Yes. Free tier includes 32+ caption styles, daily upload + export allowances, no credit card.
Does this replace Riverside / Opus / Descript clip cutting?
No — those are clip-cutting tools. We add the captions AFTER you've cut the clip. Drop in their MP4 export and we handle transcribe + style + animation + render.
What clip lengths work?
Up to 2 minutes per upload. Short-form sweet spot is 30-90 seconds — anything longer typically underperforms on TikTok / Reels / Shorts regardless of caption quality.
Will Deepgram catch podcast jargon and guest names?
Mostly. Common names land correctly; uncommon names sometimes get phonetic substitutions. The in-browser editor lets you click any word to correct it before exporting.
Does it handle two-speaker podcast clips?
Yes — captions appear for whoever is talking. Diarization (separating speakers) isn't surfaced visually yet but is on the roadmap. For most clips this is invisible.
Can I keep the original podcast audio quality?
Yes. We only re-encode the video stream to embed captions. The audio track is passed through untouched.
What aspect ratios work for podcast clips?
9:16 vertical (most common for TikTok / Reels / Shorts), 1:1 square (Instagram feed), 16:9 horizontal (YouTube proper). Pick whichever your source clip is.
Does this work for non-English podcasts?
Yes — 36+ languages via Deepgram Nova-3 auto-detect. Fonts fall back to Cyrillic / Devanagari / etc. capable typefaces automatically.
