Terms of Use
Last updated: June 18, 2026
Welcome to AnimateCaptions. By using this service you agree to the terms below. Read them carefully — they cover what you can do with the product, what we can do, and how disputes are handled.
1. The service
AnimateCaptions is a tool that transcribes your videos and burns animated captions into them. You upload a video, we transcribe and render, and you download the result. Caption styling, transcription quality, and render speed are best-effort and may change as we improve the product.
2. Your account
You sign in with an email address using a one-time code. You are responsible for keeping access to your inbox secure. Don't share your sign-in link or code with anyone. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of every video you upload and every output we generate from it. By using the service you grant us a limited licence to process, store, and render your video purely for the purpose of providing the captioning service to you. We don't use your content to train models or share it with third parties beyond the processors listed in the Privacy Policy.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to upload videos that:
- Contain illegal content under your local jurisdiction.
- Infringe someone else's copyright, trademark, or right of publicity.
- Depict minors in a sexual or exploitative context.
- Are designed to harass, defame, or threaten a specific person.
- Contain malware, exploit chains, or content intended to harm the service.
We may delete content and suspend accounts that violate this section.
5. Fair use limits
Free accounts have daily upload caps, file-size limits, and video-duration limits surfaced in the UI. We may adjust these limits to manage capacity. We may rate-limit excessive automated requests.
6. Pricing & payment
Core captioning is currently free. We may introduce paid tiers in the future. If you are on a paid tier, billing terms will be shown at checkout and supersede any conflicting language here for payment-related matters.
7. Availability
We aim for high uptime but make no specific guarantees. The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Render queues, third-party transcription providers, and storage providers may experience outages outside our control.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AnimateCaptions and its operators are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from use of the service. Direct liability is capped at the amount you have paid us in the previous 12 months (zero for free-tier users).
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be surfaced in-app or via email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
